About Us
KS is a Conservative, Jewish congregation that is egalitarian, participatory, family and community friendly, and full of ruach.
At Kehillat Shalom:
- We pray together. Adults and children learn about Judaism and its rich heritage, and children feel comfortable in and out of services.
- We feel a commitment and obligation both to each other and to the community at large.
- We share our lives by rejoicing together at weddings, births and B’nai Mitzvah and by comforting each other in times of grief and stress.
- Our caring, supportive community embraces Conservative Jewish values.
We are located in and have a partnership with Ezra Habnonim Niles Township Jewish Congregation (EHNTJC) , a unique Conservative and Reconstructionist synagogue that strives to be a "big tent," open to all who seek authentic and meaningful Jewish experiences, from prayer to life cycle celebrations, from learning to social action. Members of Kehillat Shalom have access to all classes and activities sponsored by EHNTJC. KS members participate in kiddush with members of EHNTJC and may use the pastoral services provided by the clergy.
We are located at 4500 Dempster Street, Skokie. Services are being held in the chapel on the first floor.
